The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 23-year-old student, Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford, for allegedly publishing obscene material online in violation of Section 280 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The arrest was carried out by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team under the Office of the Christian Tetteh Yohuno after officers discovered a viral intimate video circulating on social media during a routine cyber patrol on February 14, 2026.
According to police, the explicit content had been posted on the suspect’s public Snapchat account, @biggforddd123, and featured multiple females. Investigators say the videos were recorded between 2023 and January 26, 2026.
Police immediately invited the suspect for questioning. During interrogation, he admitted to publishing the videos on February 25, 2026, claiming the content was related to a TikTok challenge known as “Anti Shakira’s.”
Further investigations also revealed that in 2023, the suspect allegedly recorded another intimate video which he said he sold to an American woman identified as Naya for $600, equivalent to about GH¢6,500 at the time.
One of the women who appeared in the videos, Portia Ampofo, was also invited by police to assist with the investigations.
After the preliminary questioning and verification of facts, the suspect was handed over to the Special Investigation Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department at the police headquarters for further investigations.
He has since been granted police enquiry bail while investigations continue.
