Mahama to Deliver 2026 State of the Nation Address Today

President John Dramani Mahama is set to deliver the 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament today, February 27, outlining his government’s performance over the past year and presenting policy priorities for the year ahead.

The address, delivered in accordance with constitutional provisions, is expected to provide a comprehensive assessment of the country’s current state, covering key sectors including the economy, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and energy.

Members of Parliament, government officials, diplomats, traditional leaders, civil society representatives, and other stakeholders are expected to attend the sitting, which traditionally shapes national discourse and guides policymaking.

On the economic front, the President is anticipated to address inflation, public debt management, revenue mobilisation, job creation, and broader efforts to stabilise the macroeconomic environment. With economic pressures remaining a major concern for citizens, he is expected to outline measures aimed at promoting growth, attracting investment, and easing hardships.
