Abamba Queen Mother Shot Dead in Suspected Targeted Attack

Tragedy has struck the Abamba Traditional Area in Atebubu following the fatal shooting of Abambahemaa Nana Serwaa Gyan Kuma, popularly known as Ohemaa of Ohemaa’s Kitchen.

The queen mother was reportedly attacked shortly after returning home from her eatery with a colleague. According to reports, she had taken precautions due to security concerns in the area but was allegedly ambushed by two unidentified assailants as she attempted to enter her room.

Eyewitnesses said multiple gunshots were heard before she was found lying in a pool of blood on her front porch. She was reportedly shot about five times, sustaining injuries to her hands, back, and head. Her colleague managed to escape unharmed and raised the alarm.

Contrary to initial speculation of robbery, valuables including her bag, an iPhone 17, and other personal belongings were reportedly left untouched at the scene. Witnesses claimed they saw two men fleeing immediately after the shooting.

The Ghana Police Service visited the scene, conveyed the body to the morgue, and has launched investigations to track down the perpetrators and establish the motive behind the killing.

Residents of Atebubu have expressed shock and grief over the death of their traditional leader, calling on security agencies to act swiftly to bring those responsible to justice.
