The Accra Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into an alleged arson attack at Grace Mountain Ministry, the church led by Alpha Hour founder Pastor Elvis Agyemang.

The incident reportedly occurred on the night of Monday, February 9, 2026, during a quiet period at the church premises. Police say the suspect allegedly entered the auditorium under the guise of praying before carrying out the act.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, February 11, the Police confirmed the arrest of a suspect identified as Kesse Okyerewaa Koranteng in connection with the incident.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect unlawfully entered the church auditorium with a liquid substance stored in rubber containers. The substance was allegedly sprinkled within the auditorium and ignited with matches, leading to a fire outbreak.
