Ghana temporarily suspends citizenship applications for historical diasporans

The Ministry of the Interior, in collaboration with the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President, has temporarily suspended the application process for Ghanaian citizenship for historical diasporans.

In a statement issued on Sunday, February 1, the institutions explained that the suspension is part of a joint initiative aimed at streamlining and improving the citizenship application process to make it more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly.

According to the statement, the temporary pause will allow the relevant agencies to carry out necessary refinements to ensure a smoother and more seamless application experience when the process resumes.

The Ministry of the Interior and the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President reassured members of the global African family of their continued commitment to welcoming them home.
