Things Have To Change – Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang

Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang,running mate to the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) , has said that the NDC will improve technical education if voted back to power.

Prof. Jane naana, the former Education Minister was addressing members of the Koforidua Technical University Chapter of the Tertiary Education Institution Network  in the Eastern Region on Thursday October 9,and she assured them of being provided with all the resources they need to equip themselves in their technical and vocational studies.

She said in her speech,“Look at the chairs in this auditorium, how many of them have been done in this country? Just look around us, how many of the things in this room including the equipment here are produced locally? who says our children cannot make these?

“So why are we surprised we don’t have jobs? Things have to change, we need to raise the level of technical education and ensure that there is good creativity and productivity. If the students do it and it is not good we can make it better,”

“What do we go to school for? What is the point of education? Why is that the NDC build universities in this country? Who turned the polytechnics into universities? Certainly the NDC.

“When we were turning the polytechnics into technical universities we set our standards, it wasn’t a request that came from anybody it came from the government and we set high standards because we believe in technical and vocational education.”
