King Charles III Sends Condolences to Asantehene on Asantehemaa’s Passing

King Charles III of the United Kingdom has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, following the death of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

In a statement issued from Buckingham Palace, the British monarch expressed sympathy to the Asantehene, the Oyoko family, and the people of the Ashanti Kingdom, describing the loss as deeply painful.

King Charles highlighted the late Queen Mother’s remarkable devotion to preserving Ashanti traditions and unity, commending her wise and gracious leadership throughout her reign.

“Her Royal Majesty demonstrated a deep devotion to preserving the traditions and unity of the Ashanti throughout her life, and served as an exemplar of wise, fair, and gracious judgment and counsel,” the statement read.

The King praised Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s lifelong dedication to charitable causes, especially those that supported mothers and children, noting that her legacy would continue to inspire generations.

“With her many years of guidance, leadership, and tireless service to charitable causes, Her Royal Majesty leaves a lasting legacy for your kingdom,” King Charles stated.

He concluded by assuring Otumfuo of his family’s support: “My special thoughts and prayers are with Your Majesty and your family at this very sad time, and my wife joins me in sending our most heartfelt condolences to all those who share in your mourning.”
