On the women’s side, 19-year-old Lopez capped off a stellar season with Barcelona, scoring 10 goals in 25 league appearances and helping Spain reach the UEFA Women’s Euros final. She dedicated the award to her late mother, while also thanking Barcelona for their support.
Lopez finished ahead of Real Madrid’s Linda Caicedo and Chelsea’s Wieke Kaptein, with England rising star Michelle Agyemang placing fourth.
The triumph of Yamal and Lopez highlights Barcelona’s dominance in developing world-class young talent.
