A 20-year-old man has allegedly taken his own life by hanging in Obuasi, a suburb of Agogo in the Asante Akim North Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The tragic incident happened on Sunday, September 22, 2025, around 3 p.m. Reports suggest that the deceased had returned from church with his girlfriend. After eating, the two decided to rest, but the girlfriend later woke up to discover him hanging from the ceiling.
She quickly raised an alarm, drawing the attention of neighbors. Personnel from the Agogo Police Service and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) arrived at the scene around 7 p.m.
The body has since been deposited at the Agogo Presbyterian Morgue for preservation and autopsy. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
