Police Officer Found Dead in Suspected Suicide at Duayaw-Nkwanta Duty Post

A tragic incident has struck the Ahafo Region as a police officer stationed at Duayaw-Nkwanta in the Tano North Municipality was discovered dead in what is believed to be a case of suicide.

The incident happened on Thursday, September 4, 2025, around 5:30 p.m. at the Duayaw-Nkwanta charge office, leaving both fellow officers and local residents in shock.

The deceased, identified as 40-year-old Sergeant Brown, was married and a father of two. Reports suggest that he shot himself while on duty.

The Ahafo Regional Police Command has launched investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death.

Meanwhile, his body has been conveyed to the St. John of God Hospital in Duayaw-Nkwanta for preservation and autopsy.
