The Ministry of Health has announced a 50% reduction in admission fees for first-year students enrolling in Nursing and Allied Health Training Institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The move forms part of the government’s new “No-Fee-Stress” policy, aimed at reducing the financial burden on students and families pursuing health-related tertiary education.

In a press release signed by Deputy Director and Ministry spokesperson Tony Goodman, the Ministry said the government has absorbed half of the approved admission fees for all eligible students beginning their training this academic year.

“This reduction fulfills the commitment of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, to provide financial relief for parents and students who are determined to pursue their academic and professional dreams,” the statement read.

The Ministry further directed all Nursing and Allied Health Training Institutions to strictly adhere to the approved fees and listed items, warning that no institution is permitted to charge beyond the stated amounts or demand payment for items already covered under the policy.

“Principals who fail to comply with this directive do so at their own peril,” the statement cautioned.

Heads of institutions have been instructed to begin admission processes in line with the new directive as the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to promoting equitable access to health training education and safeguarding the welfare of students.
