A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed in Singapore to construct a 10,000-capacity student hostel for the University of Ghana.

The agreement, aimed at easing the accommodation challenges faced by students, was one of several deals signed during President John Dramani Mahama’s state visit to Singapore at the invitation of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

Other agreements included partnerships between Rock Africa, Robin Village Development, the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF), and Uni Premier to roll out prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction (PPVC) for affordable housing projects.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa disclosed that President Mahama has directed the establishment of a consulate in Singapore to strengthen bilateral ties. He also invited Singapore to reciprocate with a diplomatic mission in Ghana.
