The Accra Circuit Court has denied bail to Wontumi TV presenter Akyenkwaa Nana Kofi Asare, who was arrested for linking President John Mahama to the August 6 military helicopter crash that killed eight people.

Kofi Asare was arrested on Tuesday, August 12, after making the on-air comments, which police described as unsubstantiated. The crash in the Adansi Akrofoum District of the Ashanti Region has prompted national mourning, with a state funeral set for Friday, August 15.
