The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called for a mandatory meeting of the Asanteman Council, the highest traditional authority in the Ashanti Kingdom, on Monday, August 11, 2025.
According to a statement signed by the Council’s Registrar, Kwame Adusei Agyemang, all members are required to attend without fail. The meeting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
“I am directed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, to invite Nananom to a meeting of the Council scheduled as follows: Date: Monday, August 11, 2025, Venue: Manhyia Palace, Time: 10:00 a.m. prompt,” the statement dated August 7, 2025, read.
The specific agenda for the gathering was not disclosed.
The Asanteman Council, chaired by the Asantehene, is composed of traditional leaders, including paramount chiefs, divisional chiefs, and other individuals holding chieftaincy positions within the Ashanti Kingdom.
