
A prompt response by the Obuasi Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service has thwarted a robbery attempt on the Tutuka-Akrofuom road in Obuasi, leading to the arrest of one suspect.
According to police reports, officers responded swiftly to a distress call and encountered a gang of armed robbers. Upon sighting the police, the suspects fled into the nearby bush, abandoning two unregistered motorbikes and a machete at the scene.
The police pursued the fleeing suspects and successfully apprehended Pascal Yenkye, who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg while attempting to escape on his motorbike.
The injured suspect is currently receiving medical treatment under police guard. Meanwhile, a manhunt is ongoing to capture the remaining suspects who escaped.
