The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has ordered the immediate suspension of production of Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix by Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, following serious health and safety breaches at the company’s facility.

In a statement released on Sunday, August 3, the FDA disclosed that the decision comes on the heels of mounting consumer complaints, which prompted an inspection of the company’s operations. The investigation uncovered poor maintenance of critical manufacturing equipment and inadequate monitoring systems for ensuring product safety and quality.

This latest action follows an earlier directive by the FDA for the recall of all canned Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix products, including specific 380g and 1.05kg pouch batches.

The FDA emphasized that production will remain suspended until Nutrifoods Ghana Limited resolves the identified violations and implements corrective actions that align with regulatory standards.

The Authority assured the public that ongoing monitoring efforts will continue to ensure compliance and protect public health.
