President Mahama Nominates 15 New Ambassadors to Represent Ghana Abroad

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 15 individuals for ambassadorial, high commissioner, and consul-general positions to represent Ghana in key foreign missions across the globe.

The nominations, made after consultations with the Council of State, were announced in a statement dated June 10, 2025, and signed by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President. The appointments cover strategic countries such as China, South Africa, Germany, Brazil, Canada, and others.

Notable nominations include:

Kojo Bonsu – ambassador to China
Benjamin A. Quashie – high commissioner to South Africa

Hon. Captain George Kofi Nfodjo – ambassador to Togo

Abdul Nasiru-Deen – ambassador to Turkey

Joseph Ackah-Mensah – ambassador to the Czech Republic

Prof. Kwesi Obiri-Danso – high commissioner to India

Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, Ph.D. – high commissioner to Canada

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been directed to begin the necessary procedures to finalize the appointments and ensure their smooth deployment.
