Five Suspects Arrested for Armed Robbery at Dompim Mining Site in Western Region

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested five individuals in connection with an armed robbery at a mining site in Dompim, located in the Western Region.

According to police reports, the incident occurred when five armed men stormed the site and robbed workers of gold concentrate while firing gunshots. One of the suspects, Akwasi Abban, was apprehended on the spot by the workers, while the remaining assailants fled the scene.

During interrogation, Abban confessed to the robbery and implicated the site foreman, Ebenezer Soore, as the informant who aided the syndicate by providing inside information. Soore was subsequently arrested.

Further police operations led to the capture of the other three accomplices Elijah Arthur, also known as Possible, Elisha Arthur alias Skonzy, and David Agyarko alias Big Man on June 2, 2025.

All five suspects have been arraigned before court and are currently in prison custody as investigations continue.
