GRA Postpones GH¢1 Fuel Levy Implementation Again

Spread the love

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has, for the second time, postponed the implementation of the GH¢1 energy sector levy on petroleum products.

Initially scheduled for June 9, 2025, the levy faced strong opposition from key stakeholders, including the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) and transport unions. Following initial delays, the implementation was rescheduled to June 16.

However, in a fresh statement issued by GRA Commissioner-General Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, the authority announced that the levy has again been put on hold following a directive from the Minister of Finance after stakeholder consultations.

The GRA has instructed all ports, stations, and relevant stakeholders to take note of the postponement. A new implementation date will be communicated in due course.
