Antoine Semenyo scored twice in the second half to hand Bournemouth a 2-0 victory over already-relegated Leicester City in their final Premier League game of the season on Sunday.

Bournemouth dominated the match at home and finally broke the deadlock in the 75th minute when Semenyo tapped in from close range after Illia Zabarnyi nodded a corner into his path.

The Ghanaian forward doubled the lead shortly after, unleashing a sharp strike from the edge of the area into the near post to secure a deserved win for the Cherries.

Despite their strong showing, Andoni Iraola’s side missed out on European qualification following a dip in form earlier in the season.

Leicester’s miserable campaign ended with yet another game without a clean sheet as they prepare for life in the Championship.

Earlier in the game, Leicester had a goal disallowed for offside after Oliver Skipp converted a Kasey McAteer cross. VAR also denied Bournemouth a goal when Semenyo’s cross went out of play before Daniel Jebbison’s finish.

VAR was again involved when Leicester defender Conor Coady escaped a red card for tripping Evanilson near the box.

In the end, Semenyo’s late heroics ensured Bournemouth ended their season on a high, while Leicester’s woes continued.
