The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fined Nations FC striker Emmanuel Annor GHS 500 for misconduct after he revealed a religious message during a Ghana Premier League match against Asante Kotoko.

Annor, who scored in the game, celebrated by removing his jersey to unveil an undershirt bearing the inscription: “I belong to Jesus.” The GFA’s Disciplinary Committee ruled that the action violated league regulations that ban religious and political displays during matches.

In a statement issued on May 13, the GFA maintained that such conduct breaches the league’s code of player behavior and undermines the neutrality expected in professional football. The statement also included a stern warning that future infractions by the player could attract more severe sanctions.
