The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has filed 15 charges against Charles Bissue, former Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), and Andy Thomas Owusu, for corruption-related offences tied to illegal mining activities.

Filed at the High Court, the charges allege abuse of office for personal gain, including a GHS15,000 bribe allegedly received by Bissue through Owusu in January 2019.

The OSP claims Bissue used his position to bypass key mining regulation protocols under the IMCIM’s 2018 roadmap, fast-tracking permit renewals for certain operators.
