Five Die in Road Crash on Eastern Corridor in Kadjebi District

‎Five individuals have died following a deadly accident on the Dodo-Pepesu stretch of the Eastern Corridor Road in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region on Wednesday, April 9.

‎The accident involved a VIP bus with registration number GT 6598-10 heading from Nkwanta and a Benz Sprinter bus with registration number GT 6151-U coming from Kadjebi.

‎An eyewitness, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) anonymously, said the VIP bus attempted to swerve a pothole and collided head-on with the Sprinter bus from the opposite direction.

‎Four passengers in the Sprinter bus reportedly died on the spot, while one fatality occurred in the VIP bus.

‎Assemblyman for the Dodo-Pepesu/Dodo-Tamale Electoral Area, Mr. Kingsford Seyram Adzimah, acknowledged hearing about the incident but stated he lacked further details, as he was not at the scene.

‎Kadjebi District Police Commander, Superintendent Frank Nana Asomaning, confirmed the crash to GNA. He said the bodies have been sent to St. Mary Theresa Catholic Hospital in Dodi-Papase, where 12 others who were injured are also receiving medical care.
