Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has filed a lawsuit against two police officers, accusing them of unlawfully searching his private residence in Labone, Accra. The lawsuit, filed at the High Court, names DSP Bismarck Boakye Ansah and Chief Inspector Mensah, also known as Sir Mensah, as defendants.

Ofori-Atta contends that the officers’ actions on February 11, 2025, amounted to trespassing and a breach of his right to privacy. At the time of the raid, he was reportedly out of the country receiving medical treatment. The former minister claims that security operatives, including both military and police personnel, entered his home under the leadership of an individual believed to be linked to the National Security Coordinator’s office.

In his legal action, Ofori-Atta is seeking:

  • Damages for trespass
  • Aggravated damages for breach of privacy
  • A perpetual injunction against further unauthorized entries
  • Legal costs
