Minority Calls On Government To Publish Dumsor Timetable

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has called on the government to publish a load-shedding timetable as Ghanaians grapple with persistent power outages (Dumsor).

At a press conference dubbed “The True State of the Nation Address,” former Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adam criticized President John Mahama’s approach to solving the power crisis.

Amin Adam argued that Mahama’s current promises to fix Dumsor mirror those he made in 2016, which failed to provide a lasting solution. He noted that even the creation of a Ministry of Power under Mahama did not resolve the crisis.

The Minority warned that the government’s handling of the power crisis is causing uncertainty about economic growth prospects for 2025.

Amin Adam further contrasted Mahama’s leadership with former President Nana Akufo-Addo, asserting that Akufo-Addo ensured uninterrupted power supply for eight years.

Given the ongoing power challenges, the Minority Caucus is demanding an official load-shedding timetable, arguing that it will help businesses and households plan accordingly.
