Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, has launched a scathing response to allegations from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) concerning her acquisition of a personal vehicle. In a Facebook post, she described the NPP’s post-election strategy as nothing more than an attempt to “tickle yourself and laugh.”

Mogtari dismissed the attacks against her as “baseless, needless, and unjustified,” insisting that her acquisition of the vehicle was done in full compliance with her Conditions of Service and the law. She challenged her critics to provide evidence of any wrongdoing, emphasizing that no investigations or complaints have been lodged against her regarding the purchase.

“Their attacks would have been justified if, in their haste to attack me, they were able to show that the acquisition was not in full compliance with my Conditions of Service or any law,” she stated.

She further explained that the valuation of vehicles is conducted by the State Transport Corporation (STC), which follows an established set of criteria. She argued that any concerns regarding the pricing of the vehicle should be directed at STC, rather than at her.

Mogtari also issued a stern warning to members of the NPP, stating that she would not hesitate to take legal action against those spreading false and malicious allegations against her.

“Notice is hereby given that, unlike before, I won’t hesitate to take legal action against such perpetrators of such false and malicious publications,” she declared.

In a final blow to the opposition party, Mogtari attributed their loss in the last election to incompetence and mismanagement, stating, “It is not surprising that Ghanaians kicked the incompetent and nation-wrecking NPP party out of government.”
