The adjustment aims to provide fair compensation for workers while maintaining economic stability and business sustainability. All establishments, institutions, and organizations are required to comply with the new wage policy.

Announcing the increase, Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo stated:

“There has been an increase in the national daily minimum wage by 10% over the 2024 rate, translating into a new minimum wage of GH₵19.97. The effective date for implementation is March 1, 2025, and all institutions paying below this rate must adjust accordingly.”

Negotiations for the 2025 minimum wage and base pay were delayed under the previous government, but the latest adjustment seeks to address concerns over fair worker compensation.
