Malik Basintale Appointed Acting CEO of Youth Employment Agency

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Malik Basintale, Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

The appointment follows the resignation of Kofi Baah Agyepong, the outgoing CEO, who stepped down to focus on personal commitments and aspirations.

Mr. Basintale, known for his dynamic and influential role in Ghanaian politics, is expected to officially assume office on Monday, January 27, 2025. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Basintale expressed his gratitude to President Mahama for the opportunity, promising dedication to the role. “Thank you, Mr. President, H.E John D. Mahama. We shall not fail you ,” he wrote.

Kofi Baah Agyepong, who served as YEA’s CEO for two years, tendered his resignation in a letter to President Mahama. He described his tenure as “an honor and a privilege” and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to address youth unemployment in Ghana.

This appointment is part of broader leadership changes across state-owned agencies following the December 7 Presidential Election.
