Jones Borteye Applerh Appointed Acting CEO of GIHOC Distilleries

President John Dramani Mahama has named Jones Borteye Applerh, a former Executive Secretary of the Small Arms Commission, as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of GIHOC Distilleries.

The appointment, announced in a statement by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, is subject to the constitutionally required advice of the Governing Board in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

Mr. Applerh’s tenure officially began on January 21, 2025.

In the statement, President Mahama extended his congratulations to Mr. Applerh and requested confirmation of his acceptance within 14 days.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment. Kindly indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this appointment within fourteen (14) days of receipt of this letter. Please accept the President’s best wishes,” the statement read.

Mr. Applerh’s leadership at GIHOC Distilleries is expected to contribute to the company’s growth and development as one of Ghana’s prominent manufacturers of alcoholic beverages.
