The collation process for the Ablekuma North constituency has been suspended following an alleged vandalism incident linked to supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The disruption occurred at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Electoral Commission (EC), where the results for the parliamentary election were to be finalized.

On Friday, January 17, 2025, more than 40 individuals stormed the collation centre, demanding that everyone vacate the premises. They proceeded to vandalize property, including louvre blades and doors, as media personnel and election officials awaited the start of the process.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, sparking concerns about the safety and integrity of the electoral process in the constituency. As of now, authorities have not issued an official statement on the incident, and it is uncertain whether any arrests have been made.

The collation process, which has already faced multiple delays, was set to resume at the old head office of the EC in Ridge, Greater Accra. The delays began on January 8, 2025, when Returning Officer Vincent Obeng resigned following disputes over the authentication of pink sheets. At the time of his resignation, Obeng stated that the collation was nearly complete, with results from four out of seven polling stations finalized.
