President Mahama Dissolves Boards of State Institutions

The Office of the President has announced the dissolution of memberships for statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils following the assumption of office by President John Dramani Mahama on January 7, 2025.

This directive complies with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), which mandates such actions after a change in administration.

  • Scope: The directive applies to all individuals appointed by the former President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, or his ministers, to these entities.
  • Independent Commissions: The dissolution does not affect commissions established as independent constitutional entities.
  • Reconstitution: The affected boards, commissions, and councils will be reconstituted in alignment with their enabling laws in due course.
