The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly obtained a court injunction to stop the re-collation of parliamentary election results in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency.
This legal action comes amid growing tensions and accusations of discrepancies in the election results. The injunction seeks to halt the Electoral Commission’s (EC) efforts to address disputes over the initial collation process, which has caused friction between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
On December 12, the EC initiated a re-collation of results from four constituencies in the Eastern Region—Suhum, Nsawam, Fanteakwa North, and Akwatia—following disputes over the original collation process. This exercise was conducted at the National Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, and aimed to resolve ongoing disagreements.
The re-collation process faced challenges as disagreements between the NDC and NPP extended the exercise into a second day. The NDC raised concerns about discrepancies in the EC’s original pink sheets, further complicating the process and fueling tensions.
