Mahama, Akufo-Addo to Begin Transition Process on December 11

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to initiate the transition process with outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

In his victory speech, delivered after the Electoral Commission officially declared him president-elect, Mahama revealed that Akufo-Addo had pledged to ensure a smooth and peaceful transfer of power. The two leaders agreed to begin transition discussions earlier than expected, focusing on collaboration between their respective teams.

“I have just received a call from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo. He graciously extended his congratulations to me, and we discussed matters related to the joint transition team,” Mahama said.
