The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has confirmed that the official results of the 2024 general elections will be announced today, December 9, 2024, at 4:30 PM.
The declaration will be broadcast live, and the public is encouraged to tune in to follow the announcement.
During a press briefing in Accra, Deputy EC Commissioner Samuel Tettey urged political party supporters to avoid gathering at the National Collation Centre, describing such actions as illegal and unnecessary.
“There is no need for political party supporters to crowd the national collation centre. This is illegal and unwarranted,” Tettey stated. “The centre should only be visited by those with proper accreditation. Others can watch the live results declaration at 4:30 PM.”
The EC’s message comes amid heightened political tensions as Ghanaians eagerly await the outcome of the elections. The Commission has called for calm and patience as it completes the final steps of the results collation process.
