Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has described the upcoming December 7 elections as a pivotal moment for Ghanaians to reset the nation’s trajectory by voting out the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its administration.
Speaking at the NDC’s final rally in Madina on December 5, 2024, Mahama urged citizens to reject despair and choose hope for a better future.
“The time is now. The time to replace fear with hope is now. The time to replace poverty and insecurity with solid development for all is now,” Mahama declared, emphasizing the election as a defining moment for Ghana.
Despite the Ashanti Region being a traditional stronghold of the NPP, Mahama expressed optimism about a surprising outcome from the region, following his campaign efforts there.
“On Saturday, you are going to be surprised about what is going to come from the Ashanti Region,” he stated confidently.
He also pledged that an NDC government would prioritize gender equality and representation, promising to ensure the historic milestone of Ghana’s first female Vice President.
Mahama called on Ghanaians to embrace the opportunity to reset the nation and steer it toward development, equality, and progress.
