Police Officer Interdicted Over Viral Assault Incident

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim, stationed at the Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region, following allegations of professional misconduct captured in a viral video.

The video shows the officer allegedly assaulting a member of the public, prompting immediate action by the Police Service. The interdiction aims to ensure a comprehensive investigation in accordance with the Police Service Regulations.

In a statement, the Service disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has contacted the victim’s family, offering assurance of the Service’s support. Additionally, the IGP has instructed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to work closely with the family to resolve the matter appropriately.
