Over 300 Nurses Stranded in Greater Accra Due to Posting Discrepancies

More than 300 nurses from the Greater Accra Region have been left stranded due to posting discrepancies following their graduation in 2020.

According to one of the affected nurses, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) informed them upon arrival that only 30 of the nurses would be employed in the region. This announcement came as a shock, as the nurses had been directed to gather at the Adabraka Polyclinic for their postings.

The GHS revealed that only three districts—Ga East, Ada East, and Ada West—are currently accepting new nurses. The remaining nurses have been advised to remain hopeful and pray for leadership to reconsider their postings.

The affected nurses are expressing frustration over the situation, as many had anticipated immediate employment within the Greater Accra Region. The Ghana Health Service is yet to issue an official statement addressing the matter.
