Black Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed his commitment to securing a victory against Niger in the final match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. This comes as an effort to restore pride after Ghana failed to qualify for the tournament, following a 1-1 draw against Angola last Friday, which confirmed their elimination from the competition to be hosted in Morocco.
The match against Niger is set to take place on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Ghana aiming to finish third in Group F. Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Sunday, Addo emphasized the importance of ending the campaign on a positive note, stating, “We are looking forward to tomorrow [to beating Niger], not to end up last. We want to beat them [Niger] for our honour and for third place.”
The game is scheduled to begin at 16:00 GMT. Ghana currently occupies fourth place in Group F with three points from five matches, having recorded three draws and two defeats. A win against Niger would provide a morale boost for the team and its supporters.
