Former President John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has questioned President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for not attending a recent peace campaign organized by the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council.
Speaking during his campaign tour in the Oti Region, Mahama expressed his disappointment, stating that he had made the effort to travel to Accra upon invitation by the Chief Imam and the Council, only to find that both the President and his Vice were absent.
Mahama mentioned that the explanation given for their absence was that they were involved in commissioning programs aimed at creating youth employment. He, however, criticized the government’s track record, noting that the unemployment rate had risen from 8.4% to 14.7% under the current administration.
