A tragic road accident in the Upper East Region has resulted in the death of a military officer from the 11 Mechanised Battalion in Bawku, with five others sustaining critical injuries.
The incident occurred near Binduri when the military vehicle, with registration number 15 GA 04, veered off the road and somersaulted multiple times. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was traveling from Bawku towards Bazua when the accident happened.
The deceased officer lost his life on the spot, while the injured were quickly rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital and the Tamale Teaching Hospital for emergency medical care.
