Court Denies Ama Governor’s Request to Travel Abroad

The Accra Circuit Court has rejected a travel request by Elorm Ababio, known as Ama Governor, during the ongoing Democracy Hub protesters’ case. The ruling, delivered on Friday, October 11, came after her lawyer sought permission for her to travel from October 13 to 18 for an engagement.

The presiding judge, Evelyn Asamoah, noted that a formal application had not been filed, leading to the denial. Additionally, Ama Governor’s lawyer requested the dismissal of an assault charge against her, while the prosecution indicated there were still disclosures to be filed. The case was adjourned to October 30, 2024.
