Asante Kotoko Withdraws from Capital City Africa Cup Due to Visa Challenges

Asante Kotoko SC has officially announced their withdrawal from the Capital City Africa Cup, set to take place in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Despite efforts to resolve visa issues for the full squad and technical team, the necessary visas were not secured by the deadline.

The club emphasized that they maintained professionalism and explored every possible solution but concluded that participating under the circumstances would not align with their standards and values. As a result, Asante Kotoko SC will not be associated with the event or any related activities.

The first contingent, which includes seven players and technical staff currently in the U.S., is scheduled to return to Ghana on Sunday, October 13. The team will shift focus to their Ghana Premier League campaign.
