O’Reilly Student Murder: Deceased to be buried on October 18

The family of the O’Reilly Senior High School student who was tragically murdered by a classmate has scheduled the funeral for October 18, 2024.

Enock Bortey Sackey, the grieving father of the deceased, shared with Adom News that this decision was influenced by the ongoing developments in the case at the La District Court.

In the Republic vs. Godwin Mawuli case, Prosecutor Paul Osei Adjei provided updates, revealing that the duplicate docket has been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s office. The process will involve the docket passing through the Regional Office and Headquarters before reaching its final review.

To ensure timely progress, the investigator has been assigned to personally follow up on the case due to its high public interest.

During a stern address to Edward Bortey Sackey, the father of the deceased, the presiding judge emphasized that the docket preparation is now complete and has been submitted. The judge advised Mr. Sackey to remain vigilant and continue to put pressure on the police to keep the case moving forward.

Meanwhile, the accused, Godwin Mawuli, has been remanded for an additional two weeks. The next hearing has been scheduled for October 21, 2024, with the judge strongly urging Mawuli to seek legal representation before the next court appearance.
