A bus transporting students and teachers from Kwahu Tafo Senior High School was involved in a severe accident at Akyem Ettukrom along the Osiem to Bunso road in the Eastern Region on Friday evening. The students were returning from Koforidua after participating in a zonal sports competition when the incident occurred.
Several students and other occupants sustained injuries, prompting swift action by emergency responders, who transported the injured to Osiem Hawa Hospital for treatment. The exact cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
Photos from the scene show the bus overturned in a bush, with students escaping through the windows. Local police have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the crash.
