NDC Constituency Chairman and Two Others Arrested for Disrupting DRIP Commissioning

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals, including Alhaji Kassim Mohammed, the Gomoa West constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for their involvement in a violent incident that disrupted the commissioning of the District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP) in Apam, Central Region, on September 16, 2024.

The suspects, identified as Alhaji Kassim Mohammed, Stephen Cobbinah (also known as Bonjour), and Joseph Mensah (also known as Kofi Kokor), allegedly armed themselves with offensive weapons and caused chaos at the event, which resulted in one person being injured. The disruption led to a violent outbreak at the ceremony.

The arrested individuals are currently in police custody and are expected to appear in court soon. Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for other individuals involved in the incident to ensure they are brought to justice.
