Ashaiman Man Rescued from Attempted Suicide

A man identified as Alfred Agamah, known locally as Yehowa Nyagbe, was rescued after attempting to commit suicide by climbing an ECG high-tension pole in the Ashaiman Irrigation Development Authority Area.

The incident occurred in the Ashaiman Lebanon Zone Two area, where concerned passersby spotted Agamah on top of the pole and promptly alerted the police.

Rescue efforts were swiftly undertaken by the Motorway Fire and Toll Fire Service Personnel, along with ECG workers, who successfully brought Agamah down from the high-tension pole.

During interrogation, Agamah revealed that he had been diagnosed with a kidney disorder and had started the treatment process.

He mentioned that despite visiting several hospitals, he was recently referred to the Legon University Hospital.

However, the mounting medical bills had become overwhelming, leading him to contemplate ending his life to escape the financial burden.
