The Akropong District Court has denied bail to Nana Yaa and several others involved in the murder of Nana Yaw, also known as Wyllbee. The Sowutouwm-based musician was beaten to death a few weeks ago at Tanoso in the Ashanti Region after being mistaken for a thief.
Wyllbee had allegedly visited Nana Yaa, whom sources claim was his girlfriend, without knowing that she was married and that her home was her matrimonial residence. When Wyllbee was caught and mistaken for a criminal, Nana Yaa reportedly denied knowing him despite his claim that he was visiting her.
Following public outcry, Nana Yaa was arrested and remanded in police custody. At today’s court appearance, her bail request was again denied. Additionally, it was revealed that another individual, identified as Boampong, has been arrested in connection with the case.
Despite efforts by the defense lawyer to secure bail for the accused, the judge denied the request and remanded them into police custody for another two weeks.
