Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew spoke candidly after scoring a hat-trick against Central African Republic (CAR), acknowledging his adaptability in playing various positions both for the national team and his club.

Despite frequently being assigned roles outside his preferred position, Ayew emphasized his commitment to his team and country, stating, “I’ve been playing out of position for quite some time in the national team and also at the club level. But I have always done my duty, put my country first, and never complained because I always give my all.”

Ayew, whose 100th appearance for the Black Stars marked this milestone, revealed that playing out of his favored position has been challenging.

“It’s difficult. It’s not something that I like to talk about, but obviously my favorite position right from the academy, France, in the national team has always been as a number 9,” he shared. Nonetheless, he understands the tactical needs, saying, “But I understand because I have qualities that allow me to play in the pockets of spaces, and I don’t complain.”

In his century of caps for Ghana, Ayew has impressively netted 28 goals. Additionally, he maintains a perfect record from the penalty spot, having converted all 15 of his attempts.
