Calls for Actor Lilwin’s Arrest Intensify Following Fatal Accident

Following the tragic death of three-year-old Emmanuel Richard Ampomah in a head-on collision involving actor Kojo Nkansah, known as Lilwin, there have been increasing demands for his arrest and investigation.

Accident Victim Support Ghana, an organization advocating for the rights of accident victims, has joined these calls, urging that the actor be held accountable for the incident.

In an interview on Joy FM’s midday news, Rev. Cyril Crabbe, President of Accident Victim Support Ghana, asserted that Lilwin should have already been arrested and questioned. “He [Lilwin] should have been detained by now. This was a head-on collision, and he should not have been released. His freedom poses a threat to his own life,” Crabbe stated.

Crabbe expressed concern that Lilwin, despite being injured, was allowed to move freely shortly after the accident. “He himself was hurt, so his health was at risk. What if he had died? He is crucial to the investigation, yet he was out the night of the accident and even went to church the next day, suggesting he was fit enough to be questioned by the police,” he added.

Lilwin faced criticism for an official statement in which he thanked God for his survival but appeared less empathetic towards the deceased boy’s family.

Crabbe stressed the importance of showing empathy and consoling the bereaved family, noting that the actor’s public statements have been insensitive.

Crabbe also voiced concern over the reckless behavior of celebrities on the roads and the police’s failure to enforce traffic laws equally. “Celebrities should not be treated as above the law. Their reckless driving and the disturbances caused by their entourages must be addressed to ensure road safety for all users,” he emphasized.

The family of Emmanuel Richard Ampomah has expressed outrage over Lilwin’s and his management’s dismissive attitude.

Kofi Aboagye, the brother of the deceased’s father, revealed that the family has not yet made a police statement and feels neglected by Lilwin’s team. “We have not concluded on the criminality of the situation, yet Lilwin and his management have shown complete indifference towards us,” Aboagye said.
