In a recent development, Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has called upon the Electoral Commission (EC) to create a contingency plan to address the numerous challenges affecting the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

The registration process has encountered significant difficulties, resulting in many individuals being unable to register. Afenyo-Markin, after visiting a voter registration center, highlighted the necessity for the EC to establish a backup plan to ensure that all eligible voters are registered before the exercise concludes.

Afenyo-Markin stated, “The Electoral Commission must enhance its registration system. If we are consistently facing network failures, it is doubtful that they will meet the deadline. The frustrations and delays need to be resolved.”
